Persons participating with comments on the message board should, at a minimum, be able to demonstrate the ability to compose a simple sentence.

People who write like they talk, are often misunderstood.

you should be offering to help a person who may not have had the chance at a good education or who does not understand the english language as well as others not putting them down

I think people should be able to write how they talk... You should be a able to get general idea of what they are saying...unless your're stupid.

and we wonder why so many children do so poorly in school, if those they look up to do not speak or write well, why would they?
just a thought.

All I really wonder is how many chilren are reading these website postings anyways, for the most part this I've seen nothing but adults postings, and if you don't understand them, then you tend to not worry about it, unless they are speaking directly to you. Right??

I apologize for not being clearer in my post. I did not intend to imply kids read these postings. What I meant was, when children hear adults talking, kids will copy. If adults write like they talk as we sometimes do, then the kids are in sense copying our writing. But we have digressed, this after all about sports and not grammar nor English lessons.

Opinions Opinions, you can't live without em'. Most children in schools do poorly because of the teaching not what goes on at home. I've seen 1st graders that have had to have tutoring throughout grade school because they where never taught properly. Just because we as adults choose to speak and write the way we do while playing ball, doesn't mean we go home and do the same things in front of the kids. So should you choose to pick on someone for speaking or typing the way they do on the fields or on the message boards, make sure you know WAT UR TALKIN BOUT!!!!

“Opinions, can’t live with out them,” how very true.
So Jules, you are saying parents "should not" take part or be responsible for their children’s education (grammar) and it is all up to the school system?!?!?!? WOW! ! ! ! !
As far as knowing what I am talking about, maybe I do, maybe I don't. I will say however that having three girls, one of them special needs, I am VERY MUCH involved in their education. From reading with everyday for at least 20min, working with on their homework, right down to how I "speak and write," whether playing ball or games with my girls.
Something else to think about, "wer sind Heldon" "we are Heroes" to our children and they WILL copy our habits, good and bad. This all will say on the matter as it appears to be futile.

we can argue a point for days and never come to an agreement, it's just easier to agree to disagree. Those that chose to speak the way they do can continue and you can still dilike it, or you can choose to ignore it and just play ball, isn't that what we are here to do anyways.

well i tend to agree with both of you regarding education. except i will add one point. being as i am both a teacher and parent. a teachers job is to give the parents kids an enviroment where they can learn and to teach them to learn the skills they will need to succeed. parents should set examples and to help them perfect the things they learn at school
