| I was reading up on the soccer bylaws and came to a part that caught my attention, "Standings". It states that in the event of a tie, head to head competition will determine the outcome, followed by goals scored against in that competition, then goals scored against overall.
I've always known soccer competitions in leagues that i've played use goal differential (goals for - goals against) to determine the outcome of any tie breakers that a head to head competition cannot resolve. That way its competitive with both the offense and defense of the games and not just the defense.
Any thoughts on this?
