| Dave, our team needs clarification on when at bat, can a batter switch from left to right?

| I'm not Dave, but an Umpire that can answer the question..
Rule 6 sec 1 (c) / Rule 6 sec 9 (m) - The batter shall not step to the other side of the plate while the pitcher is in the position ready to pitch. Penalty: Batter declared out.
Batters are allowed to switch sides, however as stated in the rule they can not do it while the pitcher has the ball and is in the ready to pitch position.
