| i like him never loses his cool and he calls the game the same for everyone good and bad ya know thats life if its the english ref were talking about hes fair hes well tempered and puts up with dummies like us and calls a fair game, right then :)

| You know, sorry but no one is perfect. I hope everyone can sort of see that being a referee and not lose your cool from time to time is impossible. The question is How well are you at hiding it ?
The point is if all the players keep calm and coaches keep calm and even the spectators keep calm, the referees will keep calm.
The problem is when people get crazy and act like children out there, the referees have to do something and if they have to talk to players like children, I know I have, than so be it.
Nobody in our league is a pro ! JUST HAVE FUN

| No it is the team captain or the managers job to control his team.
It is the refs job to enforce the laws of the game.
You know if I did'nt like the refs or thought they were 1 sided and they did a horrible job I would probally quit. So if that is where some of you stand then make it easier on the rest of us and quit.

| yes the managers control their players but it is the refs job to say out of here or enough when its not being done right and if the ref themselves are not in control of their mouths or tempers who is then thats why they have the cards and the say they just need be calm do their job not say stuff like fine if we have to treat you like babies which is true we act like that which is wrong but i was answering the little nudge from badboy he just cant help himself

| oh sorry jim i was tired of going back and forth with them about the ref thing i never said i wasnt taking taking responsilbility for my actions i was responding to badboys remarks again and saying if the refs keep their tongue and temper when people act stupid they (the refs)have the power to control whats happening out there thats all and then maybe people will get the idea and quit acting stupid right but if the refs are playing tit for tat out there no one has control but someone wont get this post either i mean i coach u-14 and ther are kid refs out there and kids playing and sometimes sidelines get out of control but if the ref speaks when they do usually with 1 warning very quietly then the card then the forfeit they dont do it again but the kids dont engage in battle out there and like we have all discussed and beat this horse to death there are 2 sides and a center still always wiil be bad calls evryone is human its just control watching the game doing your job

| You know, really the only time I say more than I should say when I am refing is when others take the game too serious and make it personal; for example when players think it is a game to piss off the ref.
You'd be surprised but this does happen alot, not in the Wenesday league though.
Pretty interesting that we had a REFEREE Meeting yesterday and we actually did discuss this and stiffer penalties will be enforced by the league for consistant problem makers which include players and managers that don't try to stop it.
Remember it is just a game and we are adults !

| Alright, if you want to talk about refs, let's talk about that Rafa guy, or whatever he calls himself. The one thing he knows how to do right is blow the whistle, but he hasn't figured out what to blow it for other than the beginning, middle and end of a game.
A foul can be committed 5' in front of him, a clear takedown preventing a break away. All the players will stop play, and he still doesn't know that he is suppose to blow the whistle.
To top it all off, not only does he THINK he can ref, but he actually THINKS he can play. He plays as good as he refs and that's not saying much. I'd take the big australian ref over him any day, as a player and a ref.

| Okay, I've had enough.
As a REF and player, I know that there are calls that don't get made at all and we just have to play threw it.
Sometimes the refs see it and sometimes they don't. Or sometimes they see it and don't call it. This happens in all sports at all levels.
Now, I know people can say what they want to a point, on this board. But please don't use specific names!

| Thanks I hope after I have reffed one of your games you still feel the same...lol.Seriously I love this game,but... it is just a game and it's only rec. at that. Most of us still have to get up and go to work in the morning or whenever so let's remember sportsmanship is the most important thing in sports and as always PLAY ON AND ENJOY YOURSELVES.
