Great mens basketball game Tuesday at 7:15. Heads up to the ref....let the players decide the game bud. Both teams played a very fun and competitive game till the last 12 seconds. No one wants to see you alter the game by calling a dead ball technical during a free throw for a player spitting on the court my friend. He was doing it during a dead ball to get traction on his shoes. Give a warning...use your noggin my friend. Im not questioning your man hood or your skill as a ref. As a fan of b-ball...games are won by the players, not the ref's, and you ruined a very competitive game by the bad call. Both teams earned the right to decide who won by the hard work and good play only to have it ruined in the end by that...for future reference ..LET THE PLAYERS DECIDE THE GAMES! and by the way...hell of a shot to in it in OT guys, great game!

Don't forget to take your hat off to the scorekeeper who managed to not award a point for a free throw (which would have decided the game) and then throw a fit when confronted by it. All in all, it was a crappy reffed/scored game which should have had a different outcome but you're right, that last second shot was a nice one...

You know spitting for your shoe traction, next time do it off the court before you enter the game or take a sub to do that. I would of gave the player a technical too.

The problem with the whole why you guys didn't see him give you that point for the free throw was because you guys were staring at the other scoreboard that doesn't work. He did put it up right away, you guys just didn't look fast enough

No, he didn't put up the score really quickly. Prior to the free throw that wasn't counted, we had a player make one of two free throws and the score was 33-31 then. I know this because I looked at the scoreboard to check it because there was about a minute left. Then I got fouled and made one of two and the point was never put on the board. I noticed immediately and so did the rest of my teammates but oh well. I'm not complaining about the actual game though. The Clippers played great and beat us. I just hope in the future that there will be more consistent calls and tighter scorekeeping. I realize though that people make mistakes...

When I first heard about the spitting tech it sounded odd, then I heard that he did that right in the middle of the court of play! Imagine if everyone did that... It's gross, sets a bad example, it's unhealthly, and now we know, it's a technical foul. (How many of the penalty shots did they make on that call?)

Also, the perceived lost point happened in the first half, I think that there was plenty of time to let the players decide the game.

Now if the scorer was talking on a cell phone, listening to an iPod or playing Sudoku you would have a complaint. But he was watching the game and did what he thought was right. To keep bringing that up at the end of the game would be the same as saying you lost the game for missing a free throw or a missed lay-up in the first quarter... So the players did have their chances.

As far as being grumpy is concerned, who wouldn't be grumpy when you get yelled at like that?

Of course he would be grumpy at getting yelled at, but its the old cause and effect thing my friend. I dont scratch my head unless it itches and I dont yell at someone unless they deserve it..lol! Hey we are all human, no complaints about that there, but he spit on the court during a deadball, and if you have never seen that before you have not been around b-ball very long. Its a common way players try to get the traction back on their shoes so they dont break their necks running down the court. It was just and way it was handled. Just warn the guy not to do that if its not something that you want done. Dont call a 2 shot tech with 12 seconds left in a close game like that...Silly thats all. Im sure in retrospec he knows it was a silly call, but thast the way the ball bounces I guess...lol
