| What we have is one division with teams that have a history of winning, and I placed them in an "upper" division. Those teams will have a tougher first half and earn 4 Premier playoff spots. However, if we missed a team or two we have that covered as the Rec division still places two teams in the upper playoffs. Since only first and second place team get awards we are guaranteed to end up with the top two teams in the upper playoffs. If a Rec team plays very well they will be rewarded with a Premier playoff spot. It runs similar to the English Premier League as a couple of teams drop out each season being replaced by teams that earned their way in.
Also, what we did discuss at the meeting was that we won't know exactly what kind of divisions we will run until we compare all of the teams. There was also some discussion about creating a Premier league, the concept was brought up by Troy of the Ballers and I said that I would have to wait and see what we had.
I think that you will find that this will be a fun league, the Rec playoffs will be an 8 team bracket, give it a shot.
