This regards for Roster :

Please arrive early to turn-in your team roster.

There is a penalty for not turning it in on time.

A team yellow card will be issued for every minute it takes after gametime begins.
(Enforced by referees)

I am confused on how the refs choose when and when not to enforce the rules. Their was an ejection this sunday 11/20(Red Card) and the player left and then can back yet the referees chose not to enforce the rules (telling him to leave and if not a team forfeit should be awarded). There was also a confusion with the goalie sliding in the goal box to block and protect yet an indirect was awarded. I thought the goalie can slide in the box but not if he is outside the box as he is then then considered a player and the no sliding rule applies. These types of either missed calls or not knowing the rules puts one team at a disadvantege especially if the ref does not want to or care to explain the call!!!
I dont like to see a forfeit but when you are trying to get an explaination from this particular ref and he has feels he does not have to explain himself to anyone and will issue a yellow card for clarification, it take the fun out of a recreation sport. We pay to have refs but it seems that some and in this case a specific refs feels like he is the judge, jury and executioner of calls on the field. This is very frustrating as he has a body of work behind him of a bad attitude, play calling and fast to pull out a yellow when challenged.

Taken from the handouts link (soccer bylaws):

3. No slide tackling. This is the officials judgment. Slide tackling results in a direct kick at the point of infraction, together with the issuance of a yellow card. If any contact to the other player is made in the slide tackle, a red
card will be issued.

Not sure if this helps or is what your looking for. And i would have to agree that some refs seem quite apt to give players yellow cards instead of explaining themselves when questioned on a particular foul.

so according to that by law, since there is no mention of whether goalies are allowed to slide or not, if the slide was made by the goalie inside the box and no contact was made, then the restart should be a yellow card infraction to the goalie and a PK for the opposing team (as it is a direct free kick inside the box - see by laws #9.)

and since were on the topic of soccer by-laws, i have one. Last wed soccer match our team went into PK's. The visitor team shot first and used their own ball (which the ref did not inspect). When it was our players time to shoot, he was ready to shoot with our ball which we provided as the game ball as the HOME team and used at the start of the game however, the ref would not allow him to use the GAME BALL, but instead had to shoot with the same ball the 'visiting' team used. We inspected this ball, and it had shreds falling from it and was not a very good game ball which wasnt used in the game. But the ref insisted we had to shoot with this ball. If i were ref'ing this game (yes i am a referee - not in this league) i would not have allowed the 'visitors' ball to be used by either team for game play or PK's. Anyway, why would the ref FORCE our players to not use the GAME BALL (or any other ball even) and have to use the opponets ball during PK's?

The only way i could ever understand this enforcement is if it was THE GAME BALL and was provided by the home team. But this is not the case.

Rafa care to explain?

Clarification on slide tackling :

Slide Tackling is not allowed. A card is to be issued if contact is made with player.
If no contact, referees must determine if there slide is a dangerous play.
Slide Tackling is to be a direct kick if called.

Keepers sliding in the box is allowed to protect themselves, not to create foul.
A card may be issued and a PK is awarded if foul occured in box.

We just resently changed slide tackle rule from indirect to direct.( 1 year ago)

Any questions about this, talk with Bill to fix any issues especially if (It Seems) referees are not calling correctly. ( NOT PULICALLY)

Regarding PK's :

Soccer Balls are to be determined by referees before or during the shootout.

Choosing what ball to use has nothing to do with Visitor or Home team's ball.

If any questions or conserns, talk with Bill or Jack about this at fields

Thank you for the clarification on the Goalie slide tackle. It might be helpful to have a handbook of the bylaws onsite incase there is a dispute rather than the bulletin board a day later. I understand that a public forum is not the most appropriate but when we (The Team) feel we are at a disadvantage with protesting on the field and the refs themselves are either not sure or give the impression that they dont care what you have to say then it leaves few options to vent. I will take that into consideration next time.

As far as the ball goes if a ball is used during the game it should be used in PK's. That the question?
