| Most of the players I know complain about having to be in the Apple Valley League for BBall. Lets bring back this Victorville money!

| im in the apple valley league trust me its worse then anthing ive ever been in but they can always get atleast six teams. hook can get more i can get atleast four teams to sign up easily

| so we call our own fouls? And whats low cost? i think if the league was 300 a team people would play if you guys can get the refs?

| Past history taught us that we needed 2 refs and a scorekeeper to run this league with the guys who played, and we still had issues with guys who didn't get that the league was for fun and exercise. A call your own league would cost $150.

| I'd like to join a basketball league. I am a woman but would have no problem joining a men's team since I'm sure a woman's team won't be forming anytime soon. =)

| what would the cost be with refs and score keepers? like ive said i dont understand how AV can get their leagues going so quickly and yo guys cant seem to get one. i think as long as your consistent with the league the teams will be there. actually thats why AV has it so fast. they know its coming in another month.

| I think that I've answered this in another thread, but we had to dump all programs that were not consistent from our budget. So basically the leagues that had a high staff cost and ones we could not guarantee registrations. Basketball fell into that category. We had more than 12 one season then we had a 5 the next season and struggled to get that. And one season it didn't go. Compared to softball 60-70 teams, and soccer 40-50 teams, basketball was not something on which we could count. Because it was labor intensive, there was a large budget varience that stuck out like a broken arm when we had no or a few teams. In addition, when we did have our larger numbers, we also had a higher occurance of negative incidents. Which didn't exactly endear this group to us.
I'd like to bring basketball back in a different form, whether that means a different age group or a different format, I'm not sure. I'll keep monitoring the boards to see what's out there.
