Bruins Take Championship Dave Noll pitched another gem (8 innings, 7 hits, 1BB, 4 Ks) to lead the Valley Bruins to their first playoff championship. Jade Devitt's 7th inning, bases loaded triple broke open the close game, while Casey Fritts added 2 triples of his own on the way to scoring 3 runs. Dave Brown added 4 hits and 2 runs. The Bruin defense turned 2 double plays to keep the pesky Gators from getting any rallies going until the 9th when they plated 2. Elliot Reinfeld continued to make play after play at 1B, as ss Gary Cozine, 2B Robert Lewis, and 3B Jesus Cabrera locked down the infield all afternoon. Speedy Shawn Chou swiped two bases and Garrett Ray caught a beautiful game, adding 2 hits and 2 RBI. Ace reliever Bill Brown pitched the ninth fininshing up a dominant season out of the bullpen. It was a true team win, with RBI champ Bryen Cass and Scott Brown sidelined by injuries and closer Brian "Situation" Golen cheering from the dugout. Hats off to the Gators for an outstanding season.
