South Park Wins 6th In A Row, Hand Snappers Their First Loss
South Park defeated the Snappers in the bottom of the 7th on a walk-off single by winning pitcher Nick Arnoni. Brad Collas started the game for South Park and was able to contain the high scoring South Hills offense, allowing only one run through the first four innings. The fifth inning though proved to be a wild one for Collas as South Hills plated 4 runs on a Pat McCarthy grand slam to take a 5-0 lead. In the bottom of the 5th the South Park offense woke up for one of the few times this season and scored 8 runs, aided by 2 errors and a HBP. Neither team scored in the 6th frame as South Park went into the 7th up 8-5. South Hills rallied to tie the score at 8, the key blow was a 2 RBI double by Jon Leber. South Park wasted no time in their last at bat as Chad Jacob lined a single off of the leg of reliever John Bachman to lead off the inning. Ryan Dodson followed with a double off of the left field fence to put runners at second and third. Arnoni hit the first pitch of his at bat to left center to score Jacob and defeat the Snappers. The loss was the South Hills squad's first of 2016. South Park improves to 6-2 with their 6th consecutive victory. Multi hit performers for South Park were Adam Dodson who was 3-3, Anthony Monaco who was 2-3 with a double, Erik Fawcett 2-3 and Jacob was 2-4 with 2 RBI. Arnoni was the winning pitcher in relief and raised his season mark to 3-1.
