Chad Jacob Powers South Park To 6-4 Win
Gianna Via's jumped out to an early 3-0 lead which South Park cut to 3-2 in the bottom of the third on a Chad Jacob single that plated Anthony Monaco and Erik Fawcett. Gianna Via's tacked on a run in the top of the fourth to take a 4-2 lead. The score remained the same until the bottom of the fifth when Tyler Amedure led off with a single. Then Gianna Via's went to the bullpen with Travis Thomas who relieved starter Jay Moog. Thomas got Anthony Monaco to strike out but Erik Fawcett singled, bringing Chad Jacob to the plate with two on. Jacob deposited one to the back of the parking lot against the former South Park pitcher to make the score 5-4 South Park. Alex LaBarbera singled in Ryan Dodson to give the South Park squad a little breathing room at 6-4. South Park starter and winning pitcher Corey Humphreys gave way to reliever Tyler Amedure for the 7th. Gianna Via's threatened as Joe Aul led off with a single, but South Park's Fawcett made an incredible diving catch against the fence off the bat of Zach Galasso for the first out. Carmen Jansante then lashed one to right field but South Park's Ryan Dodson played the ball and threw him out at first for the second out. Amedure got a pop up to end the game and secure the victory. South Park's offense was led by Chad Jacob who was 3-3 with five RBIs and a home run and Erik Fawcett 2-3 with two runs scored . Joe Aul paced the Gianna Via's offense going 3-3 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored.
