Yankees finish strong

The Tigers and Yankees came out swinging Saturday at CSLA, with the Tigers scoring 9 in the first 4 innings led by Jeff Cookson's 3 run homerun in the top of the first. The Yankee bullpen (Bonnilla-1IP W, Buss-2IP 0R, and Powell 2IP, 1K, Save) held the tough Tiger offense to 1 run over the last 5 innings. Miranda and Acuna had 3 hits apiece for the Tigers, while Mario Bonilla's 4 hits, along with 3 hit days from Nick Gontmaher and the ageless Jim Fier paced the Yankee attack. Brian Trump also had 4 RBI's for the pinstripes, in addition to being his usual dashing self.
