Yanks come from 3 behind in 9th for W.
As if you were watching two completely different games. The first 7 innings was a classic pitching dual and took only 1 hour 45 minutes with the only run coming on a drop 3rd strike pass ball in the bottom half of the 7th.
Last 2 innings took over an hour as the Cardinals hit Yanks up for 5 runs in the 8th with only 2, very clutch, hits while Yanks walked 3, hit a batter and had miscues on the field.
After loaded the bases and scoring only 1 in the bottom of the 8th, Yanks go into the bottom of the 9th down 3. 3 Hit batters, a BB later set the stage for Jester Garcia up with tying run at 2nd and 2 outs. Jesters base hit almost certainly drives in tying run but Yanks runner pulls calf muscle between 3rd and home, falling flat on his face, somehow managing to get up and crawl/dive to home to tie the game.
Jason Simanson, already with 2 hits incl. a deep triple hits another smash to deep center field, over the center fielders head for a game winning, walk off double.
