Dbacks Pitching Continues Stingy Run

The Diamondbacks won their sixth consecutive game as ace Mike Thompson twirled 8-1/3 innings of 5-hit ball to outduel Easton's Larry Brown (only 9 hits allowed in CG effort). Santa Monica has allowed just 5 runs in the last 3 games combined. The Snakes defense also has been impressive with 2 dazzling stops and throws by 3b Buck Grayson, who delivered 2 doubles as well. New addition Johnny Ruiz ripped a 2-run double in the third inning and Mr. Clutch, RF Matt Gallant--doubled in 2 more in the 9th. Brown was tremendous on the hill for short-handed Easton. Thompson is making a bid for the league's Cy Young award.
