REGISTRATION INFORMATION - SPRING SEASON
CALLING ALL BASEBALL PLAYERS AGES 7 – 16!!
REGISTRATION WILL “OFFICIALLY” OPEN AT 10:00 AM TODAY!
REGISTRATION DATES: JANUARY 15th - FEBRUARY 10th (MIDNIGHT)
Registration must be completed BEFORE the deadline; all late inquiries will be waitlisted
REGISTRATION FEES (PAID DIRECTLY ON BLUE SOMBRERO):
- Residents: $55
- Non-residents attending school in Hoboken: $75
- Participants who receive FREE lunch: NO FEES
- Qualified participants can redeem and use the coupon code when checking out on the registration website

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SCHOOL ENROLLMENT FORM
& RESIDENCY DOCUMENTATION
- The school enrollment form serves as “proof of residency” for those that attend school in Hoboken.
- Participants who attend school in HOBOKEN regardless of their residency location should complete the school enrollment form; no other residency documents are required
- If applicable, download and complete the school enrollment form in collaboration with the child’s school administrator BEFORE STARTING THE ONLINE REGISTRATION and then upload the completed document directly onto BLUE SOMBRERO while registering
- When completing the school enrollment form, please note the following information:

- COACH PITCH/MINOR JUNIORS: SELECT “MINORS”
- Participants who reside in Hoboken AND attend school outside of Hoboken must submit THREE specific proof of residency documents instead of the school enrollment form. To review detailed instructions and obtain the list of acceptable residency documents visit the HLL website
- DO NOT FINALIZE the online registration to Blue Sombrero without uploading the completed school enrollment form OR residency documentation; otherwise your data will be considered INCOMPLETE. PLEASE COMPLETE ALL OF THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION AND THEN FINALIZE THE REGISTRATION

- Register for ONE DIVISION; select the “PREFERRED” division based on age eligibility
- HLL will adjust the placement whenever needed
- Upload birth certificate BEFORE CHECKING OUT/FINALIZING
- Upload the COMPLETED “school enrollment form” OR residency documentation BEFORE CHECKING OUT/FINALIZING
- Complete the “medical release form” and give it to the team manager/administration after registration at the onset of the season; Click here to download Medical Release Form
2) Complete the online enrollment to join TeamSnap (the league management “app”): https://go.teamsnap.com/forms/464232
- TS will be used for league-wide and team management including rostering, scheduling, communication, & tracking availability
- ALL PARTICIPANTS must join our 2025 version of TS at this time, regardless of prior use with other sports or past baseball seasons. Failure to complete this step will delay access to important league-wide communication and information.
- Participants will be rostered to their respective teams on TS AND families/coaches will have access to the “app” AFTER team formation has been finalized; the rostering process takes time and TS may not be activated for use until mid-late March (TBD)
SIGNING UP FOR AN EVALUATION SESSION ("TRYOUTS")
NEW & RISING MINOR/MAJOR LEAGUE CANDIDATES (ONLY)
Participants NEW to the league or those planning to "move up" a division in either the MINOR LEAGUE (baseball aged 8 - 9) or MAJOR LEAGUE (baseball aged 9 - 12) must also complete the online form to sign up for a tryout session

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
LIMITED OPENINGS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR VOLUNTEERS
TEAM MANAGER/HEAD COACH:
Position entails leading a team, providing weekly communication, organizing/running practices, and completing ALL duties as a "head coach" (assigning field positions, formulating and submitting batting line-ups, keeping a scorebook, etc)
ASSISTANT COACHES:
Position entails assisting the team manager/head coach with practices and games as needed, supervising the dugout, coaching bases
VOLUNTEER ASSIGNMENTS:
An administrator OR team manager will assign available positions; assignments will take place AFTER the registration has concluded. Completing the registration DOES NOT guarantee a volunteer position in the HLL; positions are granted/filled on an “as-needed” basis

Registration for the 2025 SPRING SEASON will open this week!
REGISTRATION: JANUARY 15th - FEBRUARY 10th (MIDNIGHT)

PRE-REGISTRATION TIPS:
To prepare for registration, please review the different program offerings, determine age eligibility, and preview the general information.
A birth certificate AND residency documentation OR the school form will need to be uploaded onto BLUE SOMBRERO when completing the registration. A medical release form will also need to be completed and given to your team manager at the start of the season.
Participants can start preparing all documentation ahead of time to ease the registration process. Forms are noted under the "headlines" section on the HLL website or can be downloaded directly from the registration platform.
Participants aged 7 to 16 are eligible to join the HLL baseball program. Baseball ages are strictly followed. When calculating ages and determining program eligibility, note the birthdate cut-off: 8/31/25
AVAILABLE PROGRAMS
COACH PITCH
BASEBALL LEAGUE AGE: 7 YEARS OLD
DOB: 9/1/17 - 8/31/18
NO TRYOUT REQUIRED / REGISTRATION ONLY
*Instructional program, with no prior experience required, designed for new players and those who are transitioning from tee-ball interested in learning the game, and ready to hit from live pitching (Coaches pitch to players, non-hard ball)
MINOR JUNIORS
BASEBALL LEAGUE AGE: 8 - 9
DOB: 9/1/15 - 8/31/17
NO TRYOUT REQUIRED / REGISTRATION ONLY
*Transitional program intended to develop the fundamentals of baseball and prepare for the "player pitch" divisions. Players will learn to pitch/hit in a safe environment (non-hard ball)
MINOR LEAGUE
BASEBALL LEAGUE AGES: 8 - 12
DOB: 9/1/12 - 8/31/17
TRYOUT REQUIRED FOR NEW & RETURNING/"RISING" PLAYERS NOT ALREADY PLACED ON A MINOR LEAGUE TEAM
(AGES 10+ MUST ATTEND A TRYOUT FOR MAJORS)
*The program focuses on “player pitch” using hard baseballs and prepares players for advanced play in the Major League. Limited roster spots are available. Players (aged 8 - 9) who are not drafted to a team will be placed in the Minor Juniors.
MAJOR LEAGUE
BASEBALL LEAGUE AGES: 9 - 12
DOB: 9/1/12 - 8/31-16
TRYOUT REQUIRED FOR NEW & "RISING" PLAYERS NOT ALREADY PLACED ON A MAJOR LEAGUE TEAM
(AGES 10+ MUST ATTEND A TRYOUT FOR MAJORS)
*Advanced program designed for players who are ready to face the highest level of competitive play in our league and faster pitching. Limited roster spots are available. Players who are not drafted to a team will be placed in the Minor League.
JUNIOR & SENIOR DIVISIONS
JUNIOR LEAGUE: BASEBALL LEAGUE AGES: 13 - 14
DOB: 9/1/10 - 8/31/12
PROGRAM SPECIFICS WILL BE SHARED AFTER REGISTRATION - TBD
*Transitional program following the Major League that prepares players for high school level
*All games will be played on the 60/90 field; travel may be required
*Program will be organized according to enrollment data/numbers - TBD
*All participants must follow the same registration procedure as the other HLL baseball programs
SENIOR LEAGUE: BASEBALL LEAGUE AGES: 15 - 16
DOB: 9/1/08 - 8/31/10
*High school-aged players/rules
*Typically requires travel and competitive league play against other local towns
*All games will be played on the 60/90 field
*All participants must follow the same registration procedure as the other HLL baseball programs
NOTE: The league DOES NOT sponsor programs for younger participants aged 3 - 6; the City of Hoboken Recreation Department runs instructional programs (ages 3 - 6) and tee ball (age 6) for those within that age range. Participants interested in joining the instructional programs should register directly on RECDESK with the City of Hoboken and should NOT try to sign up for Hoboken Little League. Registration on RECDESK for the youth instructional programs and tee ball will open on February 24th (5:00 PM). For more information and to register, visit hobokenrecdesk.com.
