Pop Warner practice begins Monday, August 1st, at 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas Street Recreational Facility.  Practices for the first two weeks of August will be Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri. from 6:00-8:00ish p.m.  Once school starts, we will cut back to two or three practices per week.

All players must meet the '20 hour rule' before they are allowed to particpate in scrimmages/games.  If they are coming from another program (ie. YFL or middle school) then those hours can be used to help satisfy the 20 hour rule.

If you are interested in coaching, even part-time,  we gladly welcome you.

For many of our volunteers, their employment at times must take priority and can only make it one or two days during the week.

You're not alone.  Even one or two days a week on the field can make the difference for our kids.

For more information, please contact Rodney Mosley at 904-412-6300 or email us at  bradfordcountycowboys@gmail.com.

Below is the full body of text sent to the Editor of the Bradford Telegraph on 11/17/13.  Although some of the text was deleted/modified by the editor for press release, he did manage to capture the essence of our gratitude:

Pop Warner Cowboys says ‘Thank you’

Thank you to the community for your support of the Pop Warner Cowboys.  By bringing back the tradition of our youth football program, it reminds us of our role in the community.  We are a feeder-program for Bradford’s middle school football program.  It is our mission to enable young people to benefit from participation in team sports and activities in a safe and structured environment. Our goal is to teach the fundamental values, skills, and knowledge these young people will use throughout their lives while emphasizing the importance of academic success.

Although there were forces trying to prevent our inaugural year from becoming a reality, many members in this community came to our aid to insure our success.  As a non-profit organization, we started with nothing and were able to fully equip and outfit two football and cheer squads for competition this year.  We are truly blessed to have the support from so many in the public and private sectors of this community.

There are many to thank for helping out for their donations of time, money, and/or in-kind assistance:  The Bradford Parents Athletic Association (the baseball program), The Bradford County Commission, Ricky Wright and the Putnam Athletic League, The Bradford Telegraph, Superintendent Chad Farnsworth, BHS Athletic Director Neal Chipoletti, Murray Ford Superstore, Praise Christian Assembly, Wells Fargo, Greater Allen Chapel Ame Church, Community State Bank, Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Martus, Myers Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics (www.tooth2tooth.com),  Geoff Cook, Sr. (www.floridahighwaymen.com), Brandy Hutchinson's Kids Fashion, Ms. Teresa Phillips, Mr. Ray Norman, Sheriff Gordon Smith, Mr. Jimmy Alvarez, the Honorable Johnny Hobbs, Mr. Eddie Boatwright, the Starke Police department, the City of Starke, Brooker Elementary PTO, our Board members (Joe Gorden, Rodney Mosley, Willie Brown, Rick Barr, Terricena Kittles, Judy Sumpter, Leah McKinney), and others that I somehow forgot to mention.

A special thanks to our parents, relatives, and volunteers of our players and cheer leaders.  You are the backbone of any youth organization and we appreciate you entrusting your children’s growth and development with us.  Although our first year has come to a conclusion, an awards banquet was hosted to honor your children with guest speaker in attendance, Coach William Brewington of the Bradford Middle School Hurricanes.  Many of you were excited that all of the children received trophies for the first time in years, not just the ‘superstars’.  We were excited too because we believe every youth is deserving of the honor and needs to be recognized for their accomplishments each and every season.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Brad Chapman, Chris Olive, Tricia Cook, and the rest of the BPAA Board members of the baseball program for your individual and collective support.  Also, your assistance and support this year were instrumental in the success of helping us restore the community's trust in the Pop Warner brand.

As we venture into the off-season we are steady focused on the upcoming season.  With the number of kids and coaches coming into the program next year, we are poised for great things to happen.  We know there will be adversity and we are ready to overcome it once again.  Pop Warner is about integrity, character, and discipline.  It's where football begins.  Go Big Blue!

Blessed to be your Treasurer
and Coach,

Geoff Cook
