MORE INFO ABOUT GRADE BASED FOOTBALL!

MidConn Conference member associations participate in football through grade based and age appropriate guidelines from All-American Division of American Youth Football (AYF) .

Age-Based football is an age and grade appropriate division without weight restrictions. Players will be with their classmates. The Age-Based program better aligns our teams with national trends and creates a true feeder for High Schools.

With an Age-Based program, you don't have a child playing one level this year and then having to move up 2 levels and play with older kids due to a growth spurt. Every child can play at the appropriate level with other kids their own age through our entire program.

What is PIAA?
PIAA is a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation organized on a membership basis. All of its members are schools. They include almost all of the public and many of the private junior high/middle schools and senior high schools in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Generally stated, the purpose and function of PIAA is to develop and enforce rules, which are authorized or adopted by the member schools, regulating interscholastic athletic competition.

Beginning in Pittsburgh, on December 29, 1913, PIAA was given the privilege of serving its member schools and registered officials by establishing policies and adopting Contest rules that:
1. emphasize the education values of interscholastic athletics,
2. promote safe and sportsmanlike competition, and
3. provide uniform standards for all interscholastic levels of competition.

PIAA believes that the student-athlete is best served by a system which emphasizes the amateur, educational, and character-building aspects of high school sports and which recognizes that athletics is not the driving force. The students are in school primarily to obtain an education.

HOW THE ICFL GOT ITS START!

After starting their own Spring-Ford Youth Football and Cheerleading program within the Spring-Ford School District several years ago, the organizers realized that the time had come for the area to start its own league.

By banding together with other area programs including Boyertown, Upper Perkiomen and Coventry, the opportunity has become a reality. With that the new Inter County Football League (ICFL) was born!
