NORTH PROVIDENCE EAST BLANKS NORTH PROVIDENCE WEST TO TAKE 2016 MAYOR'S CUP

North Providence East Little League Team Mayor Lombardi shut out North Providence West Little League Team Christiansen's Fine Milk to win the 2016 North Providence Mayor's Cup, 5-0.  Team Lombardi's right hander, Roger Marano pitched a 1 hit, 5 2/3 game with 16 strike outs.  All of Team Lombardi's runs came in the bottom of the 4th when Kevin Cesana lead off the inning with a double to center field.  Lead off hitter Christoper Rotella hit a double to right center to score Cesana.  Mitchell Duhamel hit a single to right field to drive in Rotella.  NPE 3 and 4 hitters than went back to back when Roger Marano came to the plate with Duhamel on 1st and crushed a 2 run homer over the center field fence.  Lombardi's John Decarmo than followed with a solo shot over the right center field fence.  Michael Aspinall from NPW Team Christiansen's Fine Milk pitched 5 complete innings with 8 strike outs and had West's only hit.
