On Thursday May 9th 2024 we offically dedicated the Verdi Family Press Box at the Marjorie Falk Memorial Softball Field. The dedication was in honor of Jim and Inessa Verdi's generous gift in 2018, to help fund the building of the Mercy softball press box. The dedication coincides with their daughter Ava, playing her senior year on this year's Varsity softball team. The Mercy Softball Community expresses our sincere gratitude to the Verdi Family and we our proud of the incredible softball complex we have built through the years.

New Backstop Padding Installed
With the help of the Sisters of Mercy Mainentaince Staff we were able to install the new backstop padding that was ordered in the late Fall. I can't thank them enough for their help with our newest field enhancement. Maintaining the field seems like a full time job, and we are consently looking to improve it each and every year.
New Strength Training Equipment
In November approximately $2,500.00 worth of new strength training equipment was delivered to the Mercy Fitness Center. The new equipment included:
- Additional Dumbbell Set and Rack - 5lbs. to 50lbs.
- New Lat Pulldown Machine
- 300lbs. of additional free weights
- New free weight tree
- New Accessory Rack
The new equipment and the reorganization of the fitness center will make it more efficient for the softball program to continue to lead the way in strength training and off field development at Mercy.
SOFTBALL COMPLEX RENOVATIONS COMPLETED
It's been a very busy summer renovating the Mercy Softball Field. Last week, we just completed the following renovations:
- Rebuilt the warming track and added new track mix
- Aerated and seeded the outfield
- Rebuilt and leveled the infield, adding new clay and 35 ton of new infield mix.
- Reedged the baselines and lip between the infield and outfield.
The work completed continues our mission of having one of the finest softball complexes in Monroe County and beyond
