EBYA 2016-2017 Local Rules - Baseball by Division
The division rules will continue to be posted over the next week, so stay tuned. Any rule(s) not addressed by these "Local Rules" will automatically default to the Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken Handbook. The Rookie Division will have a player draft starting this year to ensure fairness.
Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken Pitch Count Rules
EBYA BASEBALL
In an effort to move towards Babe Ruth recommended divisions for league play the following divisions in our Cal Ripken divisions (ages 4-12) will be offered:
Majors 70 - Ages 10, 11, 12
Majors 65 - Ages 10, 11, 12
Minors - Ages 8, 9, 10
Rookie (machine pitch) - Ages 6, 7 ,8
T-Ball - Ages 4, 5, 6
"League Age" is determined as the player's age as of April 30, 2017.
Players league age one year younger than division ages can try out for the next division. For example, a 10 year old can try out for majors 70, 9 year old for majors 60, 8 year old for minors, 6 year old for rookie.
There will be a draft in every division except t-ball to ensure fairness. We anticipate no changes for softball, junior or senior baseball divisions.
Juniors - Ages 13, 14 & 15
Seniors - Ages 16, 17 & 18
