Volleyball Players in the News
6/28/2012 - Congratulations to two Westerville Central players for qualifying for the USAV Junior Nationals being held here in Columbus, Ohio. Senior Adrienne Agee qualified as part of the Mintonette m.81 team and incoming Freshman Katie Myers qualified as part of the Mintonette m.41 team. Katie's m.41 team also had a great showing at the AAU Nationals in Orlando with a 3rd place finish in the 14-year old Open division -- losing to the eventual champions in the semi-finals.
Other WCHS participants at the AAU Nationals in Orlando were Senior Brooklyn Zalokar and Junior Kelly Piper on Mintonette m.61 team (finishing 9th out of 192 teams in the 16 year old Club division). And Senior Haley Kindall participated with Columbus Volleyball Academy 17 Silver (finishing 26th out of 178 teams in the 17 year old Club division).
WCHS coaches are also getting into the mix with Freshmen coach Morgan Magers helping coach the Mintonette m.71 team into a qualifying spot at the USAV Junior Nationals, as well as a 9th place finish in Orlando at the AAU Nationals. And Head Coach Shaun Servick coached the Mintonette m.51 team into an upper tier finish at the AAUs in Orlando.
