16) What is the link to the SignUp Genius?
There is no dress code, except no open-toed shoes at the snack stand. We recommend wearing clothes that are comfortable and that can get a little dirty.
2) What is the cancellation policy?
It is possible that the snack stand could be closed because of bad weather or if games are cancelled or moved for another reason. We may cancel the stand up to an hour before you are scheduled to work. If your shift is cancelled by us, you are required to sign up for another shift. If two shifts are cancelled by us, you do not need to sign up for another shift.
3) How will I know if my shift has been cancelled?
We will send an email out to let you know your shift has been cancelled. We will also post the information on the BTAA’s Facebook page.
4) What if I need to change my shift?
You can do so using the SignUp Genius.
You can sign up for another one using the SignUp Genius. If you know you are going to miss and there is time, please delete your shift in Sign Up Genius.
6) How will you know that I worked my shift?
There is a sign-in book at the snack stand. You must sign in for us to know that you were there.
7) Can someone else work my shift for me?
Any ADULT can work your shift. They must write your child’s name in the book when they sign in.
8) Can I send my teenager to work for me?
Minors are not allowed to work the snack stand without parental supervision.
9) Can I bring my children with me to the stand?
Children under 12 are not allowed in the stand while you are working. Children 12 and older are allowed, but must not be in the fryer area. They can work the windows if they would like.
10) I have two or more children playing baseball/softball this year. How many shifts do I need to work?
We only require one shift per family, regardless of the number of children participating.
11) I am the only person working my shift. Do I need to stay?
Yes, you need to stay, but you can operate on a reduced menu which means no fried foods.
12) What if I can’t work any of the shifts available?
Contact the Snack Stand Coordinator to try to work out the issue. On our website, go to About Members from the menu to find out the contact details.
13) I’m running late! What should I do?
Try to get to the stand as soon as possible. Chances are good that someone else who you are scheduled with will hold down the fort until you get there. However, the Openers are only at the stand for about 15 minutes. If no one else is at the stand at the opening time, you will need to reschedule your shift.
14) How is the schedule for the snack stand determined?
We try to schedule the snack stand for days when we know the fields will be busy. This means we try to schedule shifts when there are multiple games going on at the fields. We also need to have someone available to open the stand. However, as we all know games are sometimes cancelled and moved around, which means it is possible to be working when there is only one game or a few practices going on. It is also possible that the stand will be closed when we have a busy day at the fields because we had no volunteers to open or staff for the stand.
15) When is the SignUp Genius going to be distributed?
The first sign up genius will go out in mid-April. However, it is likely that we will not have the whole schedule available at that time. Be sure to check the Sign-Up Genius periodically to find a shift that works for you. We will send emails out whenever new shifts are added to the list.
16) What is the link to the SignUp Genius?
To be updated when 2018 link becomes available.
