CYFCA CONCUSSION PROTOCOL:

If a football player or cheerleader are suspected to have a concussion by a coach or medical trainer they are to be removed from the practice or game immediately and are not to return if any signs or symptoms exist.  It is the responsibility of the parent to seek professional medical attention to determine if a concussion has occurred.  If a concussion has been documented by the certified medical professional the player or cheerleader will not be allowed to participate in practice or games until he/she has been cleared in writing by the certified medical professional.  If a concussion is not diagnosed a written note from a certified medical professional is still required before the athlete can return to regular activities.
