NRBA Microball and Smallball is proud to announce we are the first basketball program to be sponsored by
Smallball: North Region Basketball began its Smallball program in response to the desire for younger players with little or no experience to play basketball and to begin their journey of staying healthy and active throughout their lives.
Smallball players can be as young as 6 years old and do not have to have ever touched a basketball in their young lives. We teach them the FUNdamentals of the game through a series of fun games (Drills shhhhhhhh) and much one on one instructions. We also divide the players up into teams and play a round robin tournament with relaxed rules and coaching. Our coaches have an excellent rapport with young children and assist is a very patient and kind manner while reinforcing our goals listed on our welcome page.
We use a size 5 basketballs and at the St. Robert site the children shoot on lower nets. When children meet with success they are encouraged to keep at it.
As with our house league programs, all players receive a team shirt and also receive game prizes. At the conclusion of the season, they will receive either a trophy or a medal during a concluding ceremony.
