American National Baseball updated 2015

The American National baseball program was started in 1975. The Eagles play in the SLABA (St. Louis Amateur Baseball Association) league which started in 1987 with home fields at the Hazelwood Sports Complex at Teson Rd., Lutheran North High School, and Hazelwood West High School. We offer teams in the 14U-18U levels that play in a very competitive league as well as many high level tournaments.

Our program’s goal is to offer competitive teams at all age levels that play a significant amount of baseball for the least cost in comparison to any program in the area.

Many of our players move on to play college baseball because of their own individual talents which we try to further develop through our program by challenging our players with a high level of competition.

Contact information for the American National program is:

Our tryouts are in normally in August.  Please check our website for dates and time.

What our program offers:
--Each team plays a competitive schedule of approximately 35+ games which includes league and tournament games during our summer season. There is some travel.  Each team may make one or more out-of-town tournament trips.  Fees do not cover player hotel costs.

--We have a fall program that we use for extending tryouts.  We may play in a league and/or some tournaments..

--In the winter, we offer eight weeks of training to allow our pitchers and hitters to prepare for their high school season to give them the best advantage possible at their high school tryouts.

--Two uniform shirts (player keeps), socks and hat.  White/grey pants and belts are player responsibility.

Our program costs:
We strive to keep our costs as low as possible to make this experience as affordable as we can for all players and their families. Our coaches are not paid and volunteer their time. This allows us to keep the program affordable compared to other programs.

Our current player cost is $850. This includes league fees, umpire costs, phone blast service, stats service, SLABA MVP and All-Star events, tournament costs, baseballs, wood bats, winter work out fees, uniforms, field care and other miscellaneous items.

The payment schedule is as follows:
• $250 due at September Player/Parent Meeting (non-refundable deposit)
• $200 due at November 1st
• $200 due at February 1st
• $200 due at April 15th

Fund raising:
There are many ways we try to earn money to keep costs down both as a program and individually for you.  Program fund raisers are done to keep fees at a reasonable rate and all funds raised are used at the programs' discretion.  Players are expected to participate in all program fund raisers.  There is a financial responsibility for the player to participate in these fund raisers and will be added to the player's fee if there is no participation.  We offer individual fund raisers where funds raised by the player are directly deducted from their fees.

Trivia Night - This is our biggest and most important program fundraiser this winter. It will be held at the Hazelwood Civic Center on Teson Rd. on Saturday, February 27 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 each and all players are expected to sell one table of 8. We require full program participation. Players will be asked to help as needed with the event. We will have raffle baskets as in the past and other fun games as part of the evening. Beer, soda, and water will be provided. Each player is required to sell a table of 8. There are no exceptions. We will begin this fundraiser during winter workouts but we want you to start planning now for this event.

Super Bowl Squares – A program fund raiser.  We setup Super Bowl boards for each team.  Players from each team will be given a minimum number of squares to sell.  Players can sell the squares or keep the squares in hopes of winning.  Players must turn in the money raised from selling the squares or that amount will be added to the player fees.  Tickets will be distributed at the winter workouts in January. The tickets are randomly drawn to fill out square “boards” and we will pay out $125 for quarters 1, 2, 3 and to the final score.

TJ Pizza – This fundraiser is strictly for individual player fees. We do one in the fall and may do another in the spring, based on player interest.  It is optional and does allow a way for any family to earn the money for their fees.
