Ronnie Higgins - JV Club Head Coach

Coach Ronnie began playing hockey at the age of 5.  He grew up playing travel hockey on Long Island for Green Machine and Apple Core.  He played for the Valley Stream Eagles High School hockey team, and worked his way up to Captain.  He went on to play at the college level and continues to play in various men’s leagues.  In addition to coaching his son’s travel team, he was Head Coach of the Bulldogs Navy team as well as Assistant Coach for Maroon.  He is looking forward to coaching with the Bulldogs again. Coach Ronnie is a Level 4 USA Hockey certified coach.

Julie Lenz – Middle School Head Coach

Coach Julie began her hockey career at age 7 just outside Toronto Canada. From there she played prep school hockey for Kimball Union Academy in NH helping lead the team to back to back lakes region championships. This led her to the division 1 Niagara University purple Eagles where she was a starting defensemen in their inaugural season. After 15 years playing hockey she took a step back from the game only to return as a head coach for the Long Island Arrows. Julie has coached mites through Peewees with the Arrows and has had success in both EJLPJ and LIAHL earning her the coach of the year honors in the Arrows organization. Julie is a Level 3 USA Hockey certified coach and will be earning her level 4 coaching certification this summer. Julie will be the head coach of 11U AA in 2019-2020. Julie’s favorite quote to instill in her players is “hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard” Always our work your opponent! 

Dave Singer - Assistant Coach

Coach Dave grew up in Merrick and played his youth hockey at the Newbridge Arena in the early 1970's. He played for the Calhoun High School Hockey Club from 1978 to 1980 in the NY Islanders High School Hockey League. Dave's love for youth sports and coaching began in California where he was a certified youth umpire in Pony Baseball. He was mentored as a coach by the late great Mark Satterfield who always stressed a positive developement approach to youth sports. Dave began coaching youth hockey 6 years ago at Newbridge Arena when his son began playing hockey. In addition to coaching, Dave has volunteered his time as a manager for the Long Beach Lightning Pee Wee minor team. Dave is a Level 4 USA Hockey certified coach who supports the ADM model of training and coaching.

Mike Giordano  -  Assistant Coach

Coach Mike, a 1994 graduate of Mepham High School, started playing youth hockey on Long Island at the age of eight. He went on to play travel hockey and captained the Bellmore-Merrick district team from 1992-1994. After high school, he played four years of hockey at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY at the ACHA division 2 level. Coach Mike has been coaching youth hockey for the last six years and is a level 3 USA hockey certified coach. He looks forward to working with this great group of coaches and is excited to be coaching kids in the district where he played his high school hockey.
