Pony Age Bracket
PONY divisions are organized by age at two-year intervals so players can compete with other players at the same age and with similar abilities.
Players age for a baseball year (Aug 1-July 31) is determined by the player's age on April 30 of the baseball year.
Advanced players may request to play a higher level of competition by "Playing Up" one age level. For example a 6 year old may play up to the Pinto division. The league may revoke the request to play up due to safety concerns. Also for safety concerns, PONY guidelines does not allow playing down a division, expect for special approved cases.
3 year old, if he/she turns 4 by the end of the season, may be able to play in the Shetland division if approved by the player agent.
*** Effective 2018. Birth Date for age eligibility changes from April 30th to August 31st ***
