2016 USSSA TURKEY BASH NIT CHAMPIONS - USSSA WORLD SERIES QUALIFIER

Chino Hills Thunder 8U goes 4-0 in the two day TBL Pre Turkey Bowl Classic in San Jacinto, CA. Our boys brought their bats outscoring their opponents 40-8. The highlight of this tournament was being able to battle against our neighbors from the south Mexicali Centinelas in pool play and in the championship game. Chino Hills Thunder 8U continues to get strong performances from their pitchers using 8 different boys to bring home another championship. Congrats to Daniel Benally, Gabriel Guerrero, Ayden Wimsatt and Matthew Zapien for earning game MVP’s. Tournament MVP was awarded to Gabriel Guerrero Jr for his overall performance during this two day tournament.

 Our Thunder 8U team goes 3-0 in TBL’s One Day Classic in Fontana, CA on October 25, 2015. Our boys pulled off two late wins in the bottom of the 6^th inning against Team Viscous (6-5) and La Mirada Snappers (1-0) in order to play a rematch against La Mirada Snappers in the Championship game. The Thunder bats finally woke up in the third game beating their opponent 5-1. Thunder 8U continues to get quality pitching from their boys. Thunder 8U used 8 different pitchers to come up with the three wins. Game MVP’s were Daniel Benally, Maddox Moreno and Gabriel Guerrero. Tournament MVP went to Jaden Liu. Jaden continues to be an all-around asset to the team bringing a big bat, positive attitude and arguably one of the best catcher’s in our division.

Our Thunder 8U 2015-2016 season got started this weekend playing in the 6^th Annual Save The Brain fundraiser Tournament in Fontana, CA. An interesting but memorable twist to our season debut started with our Thunder Mom’s coaching our boys in their first two games. Our mom’s lead the boys to two victories against the Desert Quakes (15-3) and So Cal Beast (7-0). Despite outscoring our opponents 22-3 we landed the number 2 seed. Sunday’s schedule wasn’t any easier, our boys battled against Team California (3-1) and the Braves Baseball Academy (6-5). The championship game was played against the number 1 seed OC Elite. Aiden Rodriguez brought a hot bat going 3-4 with a triple in the first inning. A back and forth battle between Thunder and OC Elite finally came to end when Maddox Moreno struck out 3 of the 5 batters he faced in the bottom of the 6^th inning. A timely bunt laid down by Jayden Daya in the 6^th inning and a strong pitching performance by Gabriel Guerrero and Jaden Liu proved to be enough for our first Championship Win.
