ABOUT COACH TINA AMIOT

For those of you who don't know me, let me tell you a little about my self. I have 4 children. 3 boys and 1 girl. Ages 15, 14, 12, and 9.  I never ran track in high school, in fact I wasn't an athlete in school at all. My oldest son however, is a very gifted runner. And his first love among sports is track and field.  My children started their education at Livingston Christian Schools. When my son was in the 4th grade we were very blessed to have a track team coached by a very accomplished runner. She had graduated from Hartland High school with a 4 year tack scholarship and continued to run for Central Michigan while earning her degree.  She coached for LCS for 3 years. Although we started homeschooling when my oldest  son was in 5th grade LCS allowed all my sons to continue to participate with their track team. In 2014 our coach announced she would not be coming back the next year. So we began to pray that God would lift up a track coach for HAACH.  We talked to everyone we could about the idea.  During football season we talked about a track team, during soccer we talked a bout a track team, during basketball we talked about a track team, even during dance we talked about a track team.  We were very encouraged as there was a lot of interest in there being a HAACH Track and Field team. But still no coach. Then, on what I am sure was a very cold day in February of 2015, I felt the Lord tell me he had already brought us a coach and it was me. I had learned a lot from our coach at LCS and she was so gracious in helping me get started our first year. She helped me put together work outs for the kids, gave me all her contact information for meets and encouraged me along the way.  We had a great first year with 20 athletes on our team and everyone one of them grew in there athleticism and confidence. I love each and everyone of them and am so blessed I had  the opportunity to coach them.

THIS YEAR

I need your help.  This year I am looking recruit more coaches. I am so grateful to have had may parent helpers along the way. I could not do this with out them, however, as our team grows it becomes more difficult to give the kids the individual attention they deserve as the only coach. It also keeps the team dependent on me.  If I cannot make a practice we can't have practice. I also want to emphasize that this is a great program and I want to see people in place to keep it going well into the future.

COMPETITIVE TRACK will be offered for ages 10 to 14.  You must be 10 by the time our season starts to be eligible to participate.

Practice will begin March Thursday 23rd. We will practice Tuesday 6:30pm to 8:00pm, Thursday 6:30pm to 8:00pm, Saturday 11:00 am - 12:30 pm.

Practice will be healed at the Pinckney Trails off of D-19 in Pinckney.  We will meet at the old Train Depot next to the Paint Ball Field (Hell Survivors).

I will hold practices up at the Pinckney High school track whenever possible.

MEETS will include the St Paul Lapeer, Red and White Invitational, the Trinity Monroe Invitational, and 4 or 5 local meets held at Whitmore Lk High school. I do not have any dates  as of yet but invitationals are usually all day on Saturdays and our local meets will be about 2 hours long during the week. Our season usually wraps up around the end of May beginning of June. We will end our season with an informal potluck banquet, usually at my house.

I do not have an exact cost yet. It will depend on the size of our team and how many events we compete in. A good estimate would be between $40 and $60 per athlete.

EVENTS

The team will have the opportunity to compete in the following events:

3200 meter run, 1600 meter run, 800 meter run, 400 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 100 meter dash, 70 meter dash, long jump and shot put.  Relay races will also be available.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS are a must.  I will need parents to help with practice and with meets.  The larger the team the more volunteers I will need.  I will need help with timing, keeping kids organized, recording performances, and if you can run help working out with them.  If anyone is interested in committing to being an assistant coach or co-coach I would love to hear from you.

HIGH SCHOOL students are welcome to condition with us for a small fee to cover insurance cost. Probably about $12 per athlete.  HAACH would love to see this program grow into a high school team. We need coaches to make that happen!  If you are interested in coaching a high school track team please let me know.

If you plan to participate, please e-mail me and let me know as soon as possible, so I can put my budget together and get the cost narrowed down.

If you have any further questions please ask. If you know of anyone else who might be interested please pass along this e-mail.   I look forward to another great year training with your children.

In Christ,
