GAME 1.......CLANCY'S PUB....19.......SWISSVALE....18.......8 Innings

 

Clancy's Pub moved onto the quarter final round of the playoffs with their comeback win over Swissvale in extra innings.  Clancy's lead 5-0 after the second and 13-7 after five innings before falling behind in the sixth when Swissvale scored eleven times.  The Pub scored three times in the bottom of the sixth and evened the score with a pair in the seventh, with the run to tie the game coming with two outs on an infield throwing error.  Zack Galasso lead Clancy's with five hits who also got four each from Patrick Aul and Austin Ferris along three from Mike Smith.  Ryon Rocco had three hits for Swissvale.

GAME 1.......LESCHAK AUTOMOTIVE....20.......KLINGENSMITH INSURANCE....11

The game with all its offense took two days to play as it was halted due to darkness after five innings with Leschak's ahead 13-10.  Klingensmith tied the game at eight in the third inning after posting six runs.  The Twins broke things open and pulled away with four of their own in the fifth and seven more in the sixth.  The Twins were lead by Ryan Gregg's three hits and six RBIs.  The winners also got two triples of his three hits from Klye Lucott, a Clay Groff home run among his three hits, two hits from Dan Lippert and a double from Eddie Schuessler as they next prepare to play in the quarter finals.

 

**QUARTER FINALS**

 

Clancy's Pub & South Park

 

GAME 1.......SOUTH PARK....12....CLANCY'S PUB....2

Logan Corrigan's three run homer in the first was enough for Aaron Lapaglia and South Park to defeat Clancy's Pub 12-2.  Lapaglia struck out four in four innings of work on the mound.  The winners got three hits each from DJ Michalski, Chad Jacob and Ryan Dodson. 

GAME 2.......CLANCY'S PUB....7.......SOUTH PARK....4

Clancy's scored five first inning runs and never looked back as they evened their series with South Park at one game each.  Cory Deighan picked up the complete game victory for the Pub as he recorded seven strikeouts.  South Park's Ryan Dodson was the only player with two hits in the game.

GAME 3.......SOUTH PARK....13.......CLANCY'S PUB...3

Dylan Pound's second inning grand slam started the scoring in the game tonight at Evans Field as South Park moved onto the semi finals with the win over Clancy's.  The Pub had chances early to score, but didn't get on the board until cutting the lead in half in the third inning. South Park then answered with a pair in each of the third and fourth frames before putting things away with a five run sixth.  The winners saw Logan Corrigan, Ryan Dodson, Chad Jacob and Pounds all deliver two hits each.   

 

Leschak Automotive & Pasquale's Pizzeria

 

GAME 1.......PASQUALE'S PIZZERIA....4.......LESCHAK AUTOMOTIVE....3

Ryan Gallagher allowed just five hits and two walks as Pasquale's Pizzeria held off Leschak Automotive 4-3.  The winners big hit came with the bases loaded in the third inning.  Bill Spina's fly ball fell inches short of Leschak's diving center fielder for a double and all three runners scored as they were going at the crack of the bat since there were two outs.  Pasquale's strong defense picked two runners off second base to slow down separate threats from Leschak's.  Ryan Gregg and Clay Grof had extra base hits for Leschak's.

GAME 2.......PASQUALE'S PIZZERIA....5.......LESCHAK AUTOMOTIVE....2

Pasquale's wrapped up their series this evening in a way that resembled game one of the series.  Anthony Difillipo, who had three hits on the night, lifted a two out, three run double off the wall in the fourth inning that was just inches away from the leaping Leschak center fielder.  Winning pitcher Tyler Frankel struck out six, allowed just two hits and got out of a seventh inning jam when Leschak put two runners on base but didn't score.

 

**SEMI FINALS**

 

Pasquale's Pizzeria & Quinn Construction

 

GAME 1.......QUINN CONSTRUCTION....5.......PASQUALE'S PIZZERIA....1

Quinn wins the pitching duel to take the series opener.  Both starters were in control for the first five innings as Quinn lead just 2-1.  Winning pitcher Luke Hils allowed only two hits and five walks before exiting the game with one out and a man on second base in the sixth frame.  Zack Salmon took over and work out of that jam and added a scoreless seventh to pick up the save.  Shawn Schwartz pitched into the middle of the sixth inning.  That was the inning the Mudcats added three insurance runs to put the game away.  Ryan Kandsberger of Quinn had two hits.

GAME 2.......QUINN CONSTRUCTION....11.......PASQUALE'S PIZZERIA....1 

Quinn came out swinging in the top of the first to score seven times then coasted to an 11-1 victory in game two of the semi finals.  Matt Westwood had three hits for the winning Mudcats who also received a pair of singles from Tom Simcho.  Winning pitcher Cody Gross allowed just three hits in four innings. 

GAME 3....QUINN CONSTRUCTION....1.......PASQUALE'S PIZZERIA....0   

Corry Ryan and Tyler Frankel were in complete control tonight as they battled it out at Beedle Park in Quinn's series clinching victory.  Neither pitcher allowed a walk as Ryan picked up the win as he surrendered just three hits while Frankel gave up only five.  Tarran Senay's home run in the fifth inning accounted for the only score of the game.

 

South Hills & South Park 

 

GAME 1.......SOUTH PARK....9....SOUTH HILLS....2

Parker Meyers went the distance to pick up the win for South Park.  Meyers gave up just six hits and three walks while enjoying a defense that turned in a double play in each of the first five innings.  Ryan Dodson led South Park with three hits while Logan Corrigan, Chad Jacob and Dylan Pounds added a pair each for the winners who scored four times in the seventh to break open the 5-2 game.  South Hills was lead by Brandon Whitfield three hits and a pair from Jon Leber.

GAME 2.......SOUTH HILLS....19.......SOUTH PARK....4

Pat McCarthy lead the game off with a home run as South Hills went on to score six times in the top of the first and was up 9-0 after three.  South Park did get back into the game that was 9-4 at the end of five innings, but South Hills put the game away with a ten run sixth inning.  Seven different Snappers had multiple hits for the winners, led by three from Pat Trettle.  South Park got three hits each from Anthony Monaco and Chad Jacob.

GAME 3.......SOUTH HILLS....10.......SOUTH PARK....4

The game was scoreless until South Park's Logan Corrigan launched a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning.  South Hills, who was hit less up to that point, responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame.  Both teams scored three times in the fifth before South Hills wrapped up the contest with a four run sixth inning.  The winning Snappers got a pair of hits each from Pat McCarthy, Mike McCarthy and John Zilles.  Anthony Monaco and Corrigan had three hits apiece for South Park, the second time in the series they each reached that number in a game.

GAME 4.......SOUTH HILLS....11.......SOUTH PARK....10

The offenses were on display again tonight right from the start as South Park was up 4-3 at the end of the first inning.  After a scoreless second, South Hills put up runs in each of the next three innings to go ahead 11-4.  South Park responded with six runs in the home half of the fifth frame to cut the margin to 11-10.  South Park nearly tied the score in the last two innings as the final out of the game came with the bases loaded.  The defensive play of the night was delivered by South Hill's center fielder Billy Wasko who threw out a South Park runner at the plate on a very close play to complete a double play to end the sixth inning.  South Hills was led at the plate by Mike McCarthy, Brandon Whitfield and Pat Trettle with two hits each.  Logan Corrigan, Ryan Dodson, Dylan Pounds, Alex LaBarbera & Chad Jacob all had two hits for South Park.

Quinn Construction & South Hills

 

GAME 1.......SOUTH HILLS....4.......QUINN CONSTRUCTION....3

John Bachman went the distance in South Hills come back win in the series opener.  Bachman allowed no earned runs and just three hits while walking three.  The winning Snappers scored an unearned run in the first before Quinn tied the game in the second and then took a 3-1 lead in the third.  With two outs and no one on in the sixth, South Hills got consecutive singles from Mike McCarthy and John Zilles before Brandon Whitfield tripled down the right field line.  Whitfield then scored the go ahead run when the relay throw got past Quinn's third baseman.  Quinn got their lead off batter to second in the bottom of the seventh on a walk an wild pitch.  The rally ended when second baseman Tom McCarthy made a diving catch of a line drive from the next Quinn batter and flipped the ball to second base to complete a double play.  Mike McCarthy led South Hills with two hits.  Jim Pasquine had a pair of hits for Quinn.

GAME 2.......QUINN CONSTRUCTION....5.......SOUTH HILLS....3

Jim Pasquine's quick start and strong finish led Quinn Construction in the 5-3 victory to even the series at one game each.  Pasquine's solo homer started the scoring in the top of the first as the Mudcats had an early 2-0 lead.  South Hills answered quickly in the bottom half of the inning with a two run double from Jon Leber along with an unearned run to go ahead 3-2.  The score stayed that way until Pasquine drew a two out bases loaded walk to tie the game in the fourth.  Quinn won the game with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh.  The first on a line drive double by Eric Fairman into the corner that just went off the glove of the diving South Hill's left fielder.  Jake Liposky's infield single then sent home an insurance run for Quinn.  Pasquine, who had three hits in the game, pitched the final three innings to pick up the win and allowed no hits and only two walks.

GAME 3.......SOUTH HILLS....6.......QUINN CONSTRUCTION....3

South Hills scored four times in the seventh inning to register their second late comeback win to take a 2-1 lead in the series over Quinn Construction.  Quinn went ahead 3-1 in the fifth frame as Jim Pasquine and Tarran Senay drove in a run each.  Quinn pitcher Luke Hils gave up an unearned run to South Hills in the first then retired the next fifteen Snappers in a row.  South Hills didn't record their second hit of the game until they cut the score to 3-2 in the sixth.  Brandon Whitfield lead off the seventh with a triple before Jon Leber drove in the first run of the inning.  A stolen base by Leber, followed by an intentional walk and then a ground ball from Clarke White through the left side broke the tie.  Billy Wasko then singled to load the bases before Pat McCarthy drove home the final two runs of the rally.  Quinn got their first two batters on base in their last at bat but couldn't score as they left the bases loaded to end the game. Leber and Pat McCarthy lead the winners with two hits each.  Quinn got a pair of hits apiece from Mike Hermann, Pasquine and Senay.      

GAME 4.......SOUTH HILLS....7.......QUINN CONSTRUCTION....3

The South Hills Snappers wrapped up their first ever DNL title tonight with a 7-3 victory over Quinn Construction at Char Valley High School.  After getting out of a bases loaded two out jam in the top on the first, the winning Snappers responded with a pair of runs in their half of the inning on a single from Jon Leber, the first of his three hits during the night.  Quinn left two more runners on base in the second as the score stayed at 2-0 until fourth.  Pat McCarthy, who also had three hits, lifted a two out double that just got over the Quinn outfielder's glove as he tried to run down the drive on the right center field warning track.  That drove in the first of five, two out runs as the next five Snappers also reached base to extend the lead to 7-0.  Quinn responded quickly with three runs in the top of the fifth and had two runners on base with just one out when Matt Mulvihill took over on the mound for the Snappers.  Mulvihill then retired both batters he faced that inning and followed that up with two more scoreless innings to record the save.  South Hills, who lost in the 2014 semi finals, won this season's championship in just their second year in the league.
