6th Period PE Class FAQs:

Q:        What are the 6th PE Class requirements and who will participate?

A:        Players must have proof of medical insurance and proof of a current physical (within a year).  This form can be picked up at MLK HS and was made available at school.  Players are to sign in with their name and phone number so the coach can contact them.  All incoming 9th graders and any grade players who are new to the school including players who are 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.

Q:        How does the process work?

A:          The coaches will choose during the Summer Camp / Summer Tournament who will play in the games and it will be rotated. We will choose teams as soon as possible so for those who wish to participate to a different sport, they can do so. Girls go through the process by putting into some simple but very effective competitive drills.  Examples:  Ball Handling with Pressure, Defensive drills, Offensive drills, System of Play, Positional drills.

Q:        If I miss the Summer Camp / Tournament is there another tryout before school?

A:        Yes.  If a player has not been selected during the summer Camp /Tournament, she will be given another tryout for the team this year.  There will be another tryout at the beginning of September, for new students to the school.  There will also be a final tryout for those who are coming out from Cross country, Tennis, and Volleyball when their season is done.

Q:        What happens if I have to miss a day or I am on vacation?

A:        You need to communicate with the coaching staff and let them know of your plans and reason for not making a tryout date.  Missing means that you may fall behind the other participants but we understand that it is a new program that you will have to get used to along the way.  If you have a vacation planned, go on your family vacation, you are sick, etc.  The rule of thumb is to call and communicate in advance so we are aware of your situation. Call or Email Bryan Kuderman, Head Coach (951) 743-9358 or bdkuderman@gmail.com.  Other questions can be answered by logging on to http://leaguelineup.com/mlkgirlssoccer

Q:        How does the rest of the schedule work?

A:        Once summer processes are completed, the last week of July, the number of players left will be around 45-50.  These players will go on a list that will be given to the counselors and will be enrolled in 6th PE Soccer with Coach Napoletano and Mrs. Gonzales for the next school year.  THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU HAVE MADE THE TEAM OFFICIALLY.  THIS MEANS THAT YOU HAVE MADE IT THROUGH THE FIRST ROUND OF CUTS.  REMEMBER:  There will be another tryout at the beginning of September for new students to the school.  There will also  a final tryout for those who are coming out from other sports when their season is done.
