PLEASE NOTE:  All Practices are one hour.  Games are usually 40 minutes.

Monday, January 20: No games or practices due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Wednesday, January 29: No games or practices due to the Lunar New Year holiday.

Boys Grades 4 - 8, Girls Grades 5 - 8 Game/Practice Attendance

While there is no official attendance policy for New Providence Recreation youth sports, we ask parents to please:

Notify your coach when your child will not be at a game or practice – Coaches spend considerable time making game plans and organizing practices.  When a player misses a game without notice, much of that work needs to be re-done.  

Make every effort to have your child arrive on-time for games and practices – One of the important lessons learned through participation in youth sports is the responsibility each player has to the team. Help your child show commitment and respect for the coach and other players by having him/her arrive on time and ready to participate.

Pick up your child promptly at the end of games and/or practices – Although coaches are responsible for their team until the last child is picked up, we ask that you please be considerate of their personal time.  Practices are one hour and games usually last 40 – 45 minutes.

Please Take Care of our Gyms and Facilities

We are very grateful to be able to run our Recreation basketball program in gyms at the Salt Brook;  Allen W. Roberts, the NP Middle School and the Municipal Center. 

NP Recreation would like to remind players and parents of the the following policies: 

• Only water is allowed in the gyms - no food or sports drinks 
• Empty bottles should be taken with you when you leave the gym
• Siblings of players need to be supervised at all times
• No one, including players, should be roaming or playing in the hallways
• Rest rooms at each school and the Municipal Center should be used properly - vandalism or excessive mess will result in the closure of facilities
