5/26/71 -- Proctor 2, Hermantown 1
Proctor scored single runs in the first and third to get past Hermantown. The first inning run came on singles by Curt Hanson, Terry Egerdahl and Bill Moen and a sacrifice fly by Jim Masterson. The winning run scored on three walks and a wild pitch.
Egerdahl had eight chances at his shortstop position to highlight a defensive game. Each team had only three hits with Moen getting the win and Duane Bjorlin the loss.
District 26 Tournament
5/27/71 -- Duluth Central 6, Proctor 1
Top-seeded Central earned a semifinals berth on the arm of Gary Fritch, who threw a four-hitter, whiffing five. Jim Masterson was the loser, allowing six hits.
