Players with experience in recreational, town or school soccer programs look for the "next step" in their soccer experience by taking part in our competitive program.
This program offers: greater level of skill development, certified coaches, use of trainers, licensed referees, outstanding playing facilities, and broader availability of supplementry programs. In addition, these programs provide the ability to participate in local & regional tournaments, advanced skill development programs, and premier leagues.
While the level of play is higher in this league, we strive to provide a fun & learning environment where all players can develop life long skills of exercise, teamwork, commitment, and love your the game of soccer.

Format /
|
o The league is divided into two game seasons, Fall and Spring, each consisting of 8-10 games. Premier league teams may play fewer games due to the structure of the league.
o The Fall season starts the weekend following Labor Day and concludes in early November, while the Spring season starts April 1st and concludes mid-June.
o In the Fall, boys teams play games on Saturdays and girls teams play on Sundays. In the Spring, both boys and girls teams play on Sunday.
o During the Fall & Spring game seasons, teams practice twice a week for 60-90 minutes based on team age group. During the Winter, teams will hold a weekly indoor practice. Specific practice schedules (times/locations) are established by each team.
o Teams are provided with a professional trainer during the Fall & Spring seasons, and in addition, goalkeepers receive weekly training with a specialized goalkeeper trainer. Additional training options are available based on team interest/level.

Location |
4-5 of each seasons' home games are played on top-quality fields in the Town of Ramapo at Suffern Middle School, Torne Valley Sports Complex, or Herb Reisman Sports Complex. The 4-5 away games are played in nearby Bergen County, NJ. Typical locations include: Mahwah, Ramsey, Wyckoff, Ridgewood, Wayne, etc.

Team Size, Field Size, Ball Size, Play Format & Rules are set for each age group, which is determined by the league the team is participating in.

Teams
|
Teams are formed based on gender, age & skill. In addition, teams are placed in skill-level brackets (called "flights) within their age group. The flighting criteria is determined by each league and can be different when comparing leagues.

Uniform |
Players receive a professional-quality uniform (2 game jerseys, 2 practice t-shirts, game shorts & socks). Uniforms generally last until the children out grow them.

Player Needs |
For all practices and games, players must wear outdoor soccer cleats and shinguards, and bring an age-appropriate soccer ball. Players are required to wear the league uniform for all games. (Click here for additional needs)

Players and coaches will take part in our Soccer Club Picture Day in the Fall. |
Awards |
All players in the Under-8 age group receive a participation trophy or medal at the conclusion of the season. Teams/players in the Under-9 and older ages generally receive trophies for 1st and 2nd place finishes, dependent on the league the team competes in. |
