Are The Coaches Certified Or Trained?

AAU conducts national background checks on all coaches prior to the season starting.  All head coaches are volunteers, however, they have substantiated youth basketball and/or High School coaching experience.  Our coaches have also successfully completed the Jr. NBA and AAU coaching certification courses.  Our coach is also an USA Basketball Gold Certified Coach.

Where Are Most Of The Games Played?

The majority of our games will be played out of town (possibly only one weekend within the metro Atlanta area) which will depend on our success and rankings. The Under Armour Future Circuit Championship will be held  in June in Hamilton, Ohio (near Cincinnati), eligibility and participation will be at the coach's descretion.

When Are Games Played?

Games are typically held on Friday evenings, Saturday, and Sunday at varying times. The number of games played will be subject to the team's wins, however, most tournaments have a three game minimum per weekend.

Our final tournament schedule will be posted and provided to all parents prior to the season.

How Long Is The Season?

The FLAME's travel season typically runs from late February  through July. FLAME teams will compete in only Under Armour Future Circuit or exposure/AAU tournaments.

How Many Games In A Season?

It actually depends on how many games you win during the weekend tournaments. Our Travel teams will play in 6-8 tournaments during the season which is a minimum of 18 total games.

How Much Does It Cost If You Make The Team?

7th Grade- NATIONAL TEAM /PLAYER REGISTRATION FEE $ TBA

8th Grade- NATIONAL TEAM/PLAYER REGISTRATION FEE $TBA

The Travel player registration fee will cover the UNDER ARMOUR Player Uniform package (uniform, shooting shirt, bag, and shoes),  insurance, AAU membership, equipment, and each player's percentage of the tournament entry fees. The total projected cost varies year to year and is dependent on sponsorship and fundraiser success.

The Under Amour Future Circuit fees vary-  contact us for specifics.

Are There Any Additional Costs?

Yes.  Expenses for travel and overnight trips, optional team apparel.  Any out of town travel for players up to 8th grade will require parents to bring their children and stay with them overnight for liability purposes. Travel arrangements and lodging/hotel accommodations will be the financial  responsibility of the parents.  The FLAME will assist with coordination and will provide a group discount rate code for lodging.  Hotel information for booking will be provided to parents in advance; team stays at the same hotel for team bonding purposes. We will attempt to fundraise to help offset some of the travel costs.

Tournament entry fees for parents and/or other fans will be an additional cost and varies based on the type of tournament.
