Article 7 – RELEASE PROCEDURES
A - The purpose of release procedures are to communicate player movements and allow for prevention of player movements when necessary.
B - All player releases must be in writing and signed. An e-mailed release is acceptable providing it is time stamped prior to game time and a copy is forwarded to the LOL secretary. An e-mailed release must be confirmed with a physical signature on the registration card within 14 days following the e-mailed intent of release.
C - The manager of the team a player wishes to sign with is responsible to verify with their division commissioner whether a release is required.
D - Releases for Registered Players
1) No player, once registered to a team, shall participate with another LOL team until they have been properly released.
2) A player wishing to go from one team to another within a division shall follow these procedures.
a) The new team must have a pick available. A pick will not be needed if the player has established residency within their new team’s territory.
b) The manager of the new team shall request a release from the current team’s manager.
c) The player shall be granted a release upon approval of the commissioner.
d) Upon approval, the division shall notify the LOL of the release by sending written correspondence to the LOL Secretary/Treasurer.
3) A registered player wishing to go to a team in a different division shall follow these procedures.
a) The new team must have a pick available. A pick will not be needed only if the player has established residency within their new team’s territory.
b) The manager of the new team shall request a release from the current team’s manager.
c) The commissioner of the player’s current division (old team’s division) must grant approval.
d) The player shall be granted a release upon approval of the commissioner of their new team’s division.
e) Upon approval, the divisions shall notify the LOL of the release by sending written correspondence to the LOL Secretary/Treasurer.
E - Releases For New Players – A new player wishing to play for a team whose territory does not contain their residence shall follow these procedures.
1) The new team must have a pick available.
2) The manager of the new team shall request a release from the team(s) whose territory the player has established residence in.
3) The commissioner of the division the player is coming from must grant approval.
4) The player shall be granted a release upon the approval of the commissioner of their new division.
5) Upon approval, the divisions shall notify the LOL of the release by sending written correspondence to the LOL Secretary/Treasurer.
F – An appeal may be made to the LOL Board of Directors on issues of release disputes. Article 8 (Appeal Procedures) shall be followed for all appeals.
