Our Philosophy
The New Wave Track Club is a United States of America Track and Field Association (USATF) non-profit organization that is dedicated to the development of young men and women ages 5 through 18 in the area of track and field. We have been in existence since 1995 and have produced some of the most successful Junior Olympic Athletes in the Potomac Valley Association and Prince George's County High Schools.
The mission and vision of the New Wave Track Club is:
(1) The development of children come first
(2) The measure of success is improvement not winning
(3) Winning is a byproduct of commitment, discipline, and smart training, and
(4) The concept of egoless coaching should always prevail.
Our philosophy is to conduct both indoor and outdoor track like a coaching clinic, as well as, a training camp where we hone our coaching skills by freely exchanging concepts, and develop our athletes by correcting flaws and refining their natural abilities. Egoless coaching is paramount to our success. We base our success on athlete improvement not winning. Hard work is emphasized and integrated with that, is the concept of the athletes and coaches having fun.
Our coaching staff is comprised of head coaches from several Washington Metropolitan Area Public and Catholic High Schools with expertise in all track and field disciplines. Our athletes come from various backgrounds and schools through out the Washington Metropolitan Area forming a very heterogeneous group.
