Dear Parents and Players:

It is with heavy hearts and mixed emotions that we are posting this letter.

Due to unforeseen family occurrences, we will be moving to Grant Park by the end of November.  That being said, we will no longer be able to oversee the Peotone Girls Softball League.  We have run the program for the past 17 years and do not currently have a child in the program, as our baby girl is nineteen.  Since we haven’t had a child in the program for two years and with our circumstances, we feel that this is a good time to step aside and let others partake in a new proposed program.

We have been in contact with the Peotone Boys Baseball program and they are willing to combine forces to provide a stronger continuing summer ball program for the youth of Peotone.  They have board members who have both boys and girls in summer ball programs.  They will be restructuring their board and want to have two legs, one for boys and one for girls.  They are looking for parents of girls to step into the roles available for the girls’ leg of their board.  Since this is still in the early stages, those roles are still in the working.  Bill will be on the board in an advisory position for this transition year.

Of course, things will be different.  Things will definitely not be status quo as has been for the past 17 years.  Change can be good.  More people mean more ideas.  Acceptance and patience will be necessary.

Life is like a book and our softball chapter has ended and a new chapter awaits.

We have thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of the parents and children that we have over the years.  Thank you for allowing us to spend a few months each year with your daughters fostering a love of softball.
