September 19, 2016

After a County American Legion Baseball Meeting, new boundaries have been formed inside of Montgomery County.  We are pleased to announce that Sherwood High School is now a feeding program into our American Legion Baseball Team.  We are very excited to begin building a great relationship with the Sherwood Baseball Players/Coaches, and community.

With that being said we will no longer be pulling from Churchill High School.  Over the past 7 years we have had the pleasure of working with many talented players from Churchill and building a great relationship with the program.  We wish all of our past players and the program good luck.

Please stay tuned for tryout information coming very soon.

2015 American Legion Baseball Season

April 13, 2015

With the 2015 American Legion season right around the corner Sandy Spring Post 68 is getting ready to kick off and get started.  This year American Legion will continue to be 19U, this allows any players that are 19 and under to continue playing American Legion Baseball.

Post 68 pulls from the following schools: Magruder, Gaithersburg & Churchill High School.  Players do not need to attend these schools, however they need to live in the school district.  For example Player A goes to Good Counsel High School, but would have gone to Magruder if he was in public school, he would be eligible to play for Sandy Spring Post 68.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Coach Cangas, Matthewcangas@gmail.com.

2013 Season Comes to an End

We would first like to thank all the parents of our players this season. You have all raised a great group of young men. Thank you for coming out and rooting for the team all year long. We would also like to thank American Legion Post 68 for allowing us to continue playing under their name and allow our team a chance to play American Legion Baseball.

All players have done a great job this season. Each and everyone of the players on our roster had a very important job and contribution to the team. We took our bumps along the way, but as Post 68 continues to show that we do not give up and we do not let in. This is one of the hardiest fighting teams we have had the privilege to coach. Day in and day out, when our shoulders were against the wall you all dug deeper and never stopped fighting. Thank you for that and thank you very much for one heck of a season.

To our Veterans; we are sad to see you leave from Post 68, but extremely excited for what is before you. You all will continue to play competitive baseball and continue to strive to become better ball players. We hope that your time with us will and has given you the tools and knowledge to continue forward and persue the next level. Thank you very much for the leadership you brought to this team and the love for the game of baseball. Just know when your playing days are over there will always be a spot on a bucket in the Post 68 dugout for you.

To our young guys; we are very excited and happy to see what you will continue to do in the years to come. We have made large strives in the right direction with the future of Post 68, continue to work hard and use the tools and lessons you learned this season to continue to grow as a player on and off the field. We look forward to next season and can't wait to pave a new path to the future. Stay in touch and we'll see you back in 9 months.

One final thank you everyone who has supported and cheered on Post 68. We greatly appreciate it and truly do coach for the love of the game.
