Seals College Player Luke Tybursky Recieves Honors

November 28, 2006

Luke Tyburski missed his first 5 college games due to a hamstring pull which he received while training in SF. Once back playing at Southern Nazarene University (NAIA division) he helped them go on a 9 game winning streak, finishing the season ranked 3rd in the nation.

Luke received all conference first team, and conference defender of the year. He also received all region 1st team, and all-American honorable mention.

Southern Nazarene went on to the NAIA national tournament seeded 5th, but unfortunately had a shock loss in the second round in penalty kicks against William Jewell (Liberty, Mo.) which they out shot 26-10 in regulation, but could not earn more than one goal in the 1-1 tie.

Luke finished the year with 2 goals (both game winning goals, one in overtime) and 2 assists.  Tyburski will be graduating in a couple of weeks, and heading to Europe for soccer trials.

Good Luck Luke!
