James Bent Contributes at Harrow BoroughSeptember 20, 2007
James Bent, midfielder for the Seals this past season, is back in England playing for Harrow Borough Football Club. Bent returned to England in August, and has played in all four matches the club has played in September. In those four matches, Bent has two goals, and has played all but 10 minutes of the match time. Bent’s first goal came against Ashford Town in a 3-1 win on September 4th. His goal came on a free-kick in the 88th minute which sealed the win for Harrow. Striker Elliot Onochie had surged forward but was brought down fifteen yards inside the Ashford half. Midfielder/ Player Coach Jamie Lawrence clipped the free-kick forward, and Bent rose above a defender to loop a header over Ashford keeper Paul Burgess to get his first goal of the season. Read the full match story here . . . Goal number two was notched in Harrow’s first FA Cup match which was held Saturday September 15th against Hitchin Town of the Southern League Premier Division. Hitchin had leveled at 1-1 just four minutes into the second half. Five minutes after that, Onochie was tripped up by the Hitchin keeper, and Bent slammed home the PK to regain the lead for Harrow at the 54 minute mark. Hitchin however, went on to win the match and knock Harrow out of the tournament with a 3-2 win. Read the full match story here . . . Harrow is currently 14th in the tables in the Premier Division of the Isthmian League (more commonly known as the Ryman League), which sits in the 7th tier in the English football league system.
