Bronco's Knocked Out by Notre Dame

December 2, 2007 – 07:31 AM
On another nice, crisp evening for soccer, the Santa Clara Broncos had their dreams of a National Championship end, as Notre Dame Fighting Irish got two goals off the foot of Joseph Laperia for a 2-0 win.

Santa Clara didn't go quietly though.  The Bronco's consistently outshot the Irish with 8 shots in the first half, and 9 in the second.  Notre Dame keeper, Chris Cahill, had to make two saves within the first six minutes of the game, leaving the crowd with a feeling that this would be the Bronco's night.

It took until the 68th minute for a score, and as it so often happens, goal number two only took another four minutes.

The Broncos can hold their heads high though, as they had an outstanding season, and one to be remembered for it's successes, not failures.
