Peter Lovell Receives PDL Honors

July 16, 2008

The USL today announce the PDL Team of the Week Honors.  Peter Lovell was recognized for his three goal weekend that helped put the Seals in first place in the Southwest Division of the Western Conference putting their playoff hopes fully in their own control.

"This is a great position to be in at the end of the season, your final weekend of play ahead of you, and you control your own future," said Tom Simpson, head coach of the Seals.  "But we have to be prepared because these two teams have nothing to play for except to knock us out of the playoffs, and that makes these two strong teams very dangerous for us."

Lovell, who came to us from a recent stint in Italy, was born in Southern California, but was raised in Brazil.  Lovell is the second Seals forward to receive a place on the PDL Team of the Week (Kellan Wilson received two honors earlier this year).  Last week keeper Eric Connor received Team of the Week Honorable Mention  for his performance against the Brigade with a 5 save shutout.
