The Seals will play in the 2006 Premier Development League of the USL (United Soccer Leagues: http://www.uslsoccer.com).

The Seals anticipate playing games at the University of San Francisco and St. Mary's College, Moraga, with the possibility of one other venue depending upon availability. The good people of theses two academic institutions have embraced the return of the Seals. Many of the Bay Area's greatest soccer prospects from these institutions, other universities, and even a few high school player will represent the Seals. It will certainly be an exciting opportunity for these players and for the fans who will get a chance to see the best from the Bay Area collected together for a common cause: the success of the San Francisco Seals.

The Seals and SF United share a common bond as both are part of the San Francisco United Soccer Club.  The Super Y teams will become aligned with the Seals by taking their name and look for the 2006 season as the Super Y teams will represent the youth club for the Seals in an on-going relationship that will benefit the entire club.

The Seals have been missed. So many people have told us this. After all the Seals produced great MLS players like CJ Brown, Marquis White, Tim Weaver and many others. Many of the Bay Area's current high school and college coaches played for the Seals. Seals players represented the Bay Area well, with pride, with dedication, with passion, with a winning tradition. From 1993 to 1998, the Seals were the class of the league, winning every division honor, almost all regional honors and making it to the National Championship three years in a row. The Seals most memorable moments came in 1997 when the Seals, a third division professional team, went to the semi-finals of the U.S. Open Cup. In the process they knocked off one A-League team, the Seattle Sounders, two MLS teams, the Kansas City Wizards and the San Jose Earthquakes (then called the "Clash"). These two games were ranked # 6 and #3 in the greatest games played in the 100 year history of the US Open Cup on the USSoccer Federation website. The team took the D3 National Open Cup Championship and was declared the "Team of the Year" by USA Today.
