The San Francisco Seals Tryouts: phase I completed

December 24, 2005

Today the San Francisco Seals completed the third of three tryouts. The Seals had a total of 84 players at their tryouts which were staged over the past three weeks. Although most players came from local colleges, there were also players from Oregon, Southern California and the East Coast. Players from the San Francisco Glens, the Champions of the California Premier Soccer Association, provided the majority of the non-college candidates. In addition a number of the Bay Area's high school standouts attended the tryouts.

Between now and the end of January the Seals will stage training sessions for Seals candidates. Players will receive invitations by email. New candidates should send their inquiries to Ramon Esteves.

Phase II of tryouts will be take place from mid-March to mid-April when college players are off for their Spring break. During this period, selected college players will play in a pre-season preparation for the PDL season that starts early May. Following phase II college players will be signed for the season that opens in Fresno on May 6th.

The Seals are owned by the San Francisco Soccer Development Corporation, a San Francisco Bay Area C Corporation. The Seals are the affiliate of the SFUSC, the San Francisco United Soccer Club, that was founded in 1985 to bring soccer to the various communities of the Bay Area.
