Welcome to the home of the

South Kingstown Girls' Slowpitch Softball

News

Good Morning Softball Families.

Thank you for signing up for softball this season. Unfortunately, even after extending registration, we still have a low number of registered players for the season. The board has been working hard to come up with a plan for those of you that have registered in order to provide you with an opportunity to play this season.

Instructional and Junior league players:
We have decided to combine the instructional and junior leagues to create 2 teams of 8-9 players each, ranging from ages 6-12. Players will practice with their assigned teams and the two teams will play against each other each week. There will be 1-2 games a week starting the week of May 11th and pre-season practices will begin the week of April 13th.

While there are only enough players to create two teams, smaller teams provide us the opportunity to spend more time with each player to develop their skills and understanding of the game which will give them a stronger foundation for a more robust season next year.

Coaches will be in touch with the schedule shortly. If your players have any friends who would like to join us this season, please have them reach out.

Senior league players:
Unfortunately, we only had 8 players register. We would like your opinion on what you would like to do for the season;

  1. We host clinics and practices without games and focus on building/refining skills and learning fundamentals of the game.
  2. We have a few scrimmages/games with the slow pitch league in Coventry.
  3. You can volunteer as a "Junior" coach and help teach the younger league about softball.
  4. We help you find an adult league to play on (age 16+).
  5. We issue full refunds.

Please let us know which option you choose by Friday April 11th.

The board has put a lot of time and thought into this season and hope you are flexible and understanding during this time.

Thank you for your patience,
Rachel Hiener
Board President
