Stanislaus Athletic Foundation Endowment (SAFE)

Fellow Ballplayers

The founding members of the Stanislaus Senior Softball Association had a strong vision about having our own ballpark, a park where we could make the rules, a place where we can enjoy playing ball and not worrying about bad field conditions or insufficient lighting or even city price hikes or sharing our fields with other city teams. Many of us newer players share that same vision, but the economy has just about swallowed up that dream.

Is there a solution? Yes, some of you may have expressed a willingness to donate funds towards a SSSA owned ball complex, but only if it could be a tax benefit. So the Stanislaus Athletic Foundation Endowment (SAFE) was created by the SSSA Board of Directors with some goals in mind. First, it will put our Association in the public and corporate eye as a doer of good deeds. Secondly, it is a great opportunity to give back to the community in which we live, like providing donations to charitable organizations that we recently have done. And the best for last, it provides a way for our members and anyone else to donate funds and/or material & labor and even property as a tax deduction to our Foundation to develop our own ball complex.

Many of you know that being a non-profit entity allows donations from many different sources, that is why we need to make our Association a “reputably known giver” in all public, private & corporate domains within our community.

We have many innovative and benevolent members and sponsors that contribute their time and money to see visions of the SSSA as a means to help the community and ourselves. Because of those people we have a couple of projects that we are working on to accomplish some of the above goals;
Our Association Treasurer, Bruce Ramsey of Ulrich & Ramsey, has offered to write Living Trusts for any member in which a large portion of the fee will be donated to SAFE in the members name as a tax donation. For more information, please contact Bruce Ramsey.
And later this year we will be holding a softball marathon, in part, to donate $1000 to each Stanislaus County High School to be shared equally with the boys and girls Athletic Departments. This will be a large event and hopefully we will receive participation from most of our members. This will be a charity event and as such, to play in this game you will need to be sponsored. The details are being worked out but this will be a fun time.

Remember the goal is to promote our organization to the community, let’s be a valuable asset and reap the rewards of citizenship along with the fellowship of our teammates and the community. We encourage you to welcome and endorse this innovative vision of building our own complex.
