Mission Statement: Our goal each year is to be a regionally and nationally competitive team without losing the sandlot vibe that makes club baseball so special. We are an entirely student run organization, with elected officers doing everything from making baseball decisions to handling financial and administrative duties. We look for guys who are talented ballplayers, but also work hard in the classroom and buy in to the team concept. In addition to striving for success on the field, we aim to forge a brotherhood among our members that goes well beyond the diamond.

Sign-Ups/Tryouts: Check out our table at Fall Fest (first weekend of the school year), or in the Pit during the first week of class to sign up for tryouts, meet the officers, and get more information. If you're unable to find us on campus, shoot us an email at uncclubbaseball@yahoo.com so we can get your info before tryouts. Tryouts typically take place during the second week of classes, on Hooker Fields 3&4, which is right next to Carmichael Arena. Check our website and Twitter in the weeks leading up to the start of the school year for specific dates.

Practice: We practice 4-5 times during the week on Hooker Fields 3&4 from 4-5:30PM. We understand that school comes before athletics, but we do expect members to make time in their schedules for at least 3 practices a week. Practice begins in August and continues until the end of our fall season around November. We resume practicing as soon as Winter Break ends, as we have to prepare for the spring season which begins in February.

Games: The typical club baseball series includes a double header on Saturday of two 7 inning games, with the 3rd game of each series being a 9 inning game played on Sunday. We understand that school work makes midweek games difficult, so we try to avoid those in most circumstances. Our fall season consists of 4-5 exhibition series that allow us to assess new players and prepare for the spring season. We try to take at least 1 road trip in the fall to a state that does not border North Carolina, but the majority of these series will be in North Carolina. The spring season will begin with 2-3 non-conference series (possibly including a road trip or two outside of NC) to boost our resume for the NCBA Selection Committee and to prepare us for conference play. We then play one series against each member of our conference (ECU, NC State, Elon, App State, UNCW), with the ultimate goal being to win the conference and advance in postseason play.

Postseason: The winner of our conference receives an automatic bid to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament, and the 2nd place team is eligible for a wild card berth, which is determined by an NCBA committee. Postseason play typically begins the weekend after final exams, and the NCBA World Series occurs in mid to late May.

Player Dues: Each member will be expected to pay dues, set at $350 for the upcoming year. This money combines with fundraising efforts to provide uniforms, travel and hotel fees, field fees, umpires, and every other expense incurred by the club.

If you still have any questions, please email us at uncclubbaseball@yahoo.com. New members keep our club fresh and competitive, and we are always looking for great ballplayers and great people to add to our squad.
