WSFL X Rules

The rules for the WSFL are 99% the same as the WSL Summer League rules.

Please make yourself familiar with them.

In addition to those rules, we do have some custom Fall League Rules.

1) Trades. All trades are open and legal. If one team needs a pitcher and another team needs a shortstop and they can come to an agreement on a swap they can trade. Players signing up for the Fall League understand that by signing up, you have the option of being traded at any time. Trade Deadline is November 11th 10:59am, NO EXCEPTIONS. The traded player MUST play 1 game with their new team. ALL TRADES MUST BE APPROVED BY THE COMMISSIONER.

2) A player who is traded and refuses to go play for the other team can be removed from the WSFL by the Commissioner.

3) Non-Drafted Players. Players who did not sign up and were not drafted are NOT allowed to play at all. Only players who were drafted can play. If your team is short on players and you need to pick up a guy or girl, you can ONLY pick up players from other teams who are in the league.

4) Minimum Games Played for Playoffs: There is NO minimum games played needed to qualify for playoffs. Once a player is drafted, they are on a team, they qualify for playoffs. We are not tracking games played. However, you cannot borrow a player (male or female) for the playoffs. All players for the playoffs MUST be on your roster. No exceptions.

5) The Games: Two six-inning games with a 1-1 count. Hitters get 1 courtesy fouls after having two strikes. There is no automatic walk rule when a man is walked in front of a lady.

6) The Schedule: The Fall Season will begin on Sunday, Oct 8th. Week 2 will then be Oct 22nd and will run until December 10th. Games will be at either 11am, 1pm & 3pm on both dirt and asphalt. 

  • Here are the dates:
    • Opening Day, Oct 8th
    • Week 2, Oct 22nd
    • Week 3, Oct 29th
    • Week 4, Nov 5th
    • Week 5, Nov 12th
    • Playoffs Week 1, Nov 19th
    • Ronnie Ortiz Friendsgiving, Nov 26th (no league games but open to everyone!)
    • Playoffs Round 2, Dec 3rd
    • Semi-Finals and Championship, Dec 10th
  • Game Format: We are going to go with doubleheaders! To do this, we are using "Tournament Rules" which means in your 2 hour time slot, you are going to play 2 - 6 inning games with a 1-1 count with 1 courtesy foul. Game one you will be the home team. Game two you will be the road team. This means you'll actually play 12 innings a day (instead of 9) and you'll play 10 games as opposed to 8. I think this will help in terms of getting all your players in and keeping people happy.
  • Playoff Format: Round 1 will be a 1 - 9 inning game. Round 2, semi-finals and finals will be back to 6 innings, however, you'll play Best of 3!
