Welcome
Subscribe to our NewsletterAverill Park Youth Basketball is looking for Volunteers for the 2019-2020 Season.
We are fast approaching the start of the 2019-2020 Averill Park Youth Basketball Season. We are excited to have another successful season with kids from Kindergarten to 12th Grade participating in Travel, CYO, Senior League, and Hoop Camp. All toll we have over 300 boys and girls who participate in our programs.
Volunteers are vital to the success of our program and we are looking for help in the following areas:
Head Coach/Assistant Coach – If you are a current coach for APYB or are interested in a position coaching or assisting with either a Travel (Capital District Youth Basketball League),CYO, or Sr. League team grades 3-12, please send an email to apyouthbasketball@gmail.com with the following information:
Name:
Grade you wish to coach or help with:
Experience coaching Basketball or any other sport:
Experience playing Basketball:
Our goal is to have all Coaches for the Girls and Boys ( Grade 4-8) Travel teams selected by September 6th. CYO and Sr. League coaches will be in place by mid-October.
Hoop Camp Coach/Helper – APYB offers Hoop Camp to Grade Levels K-6 on Saturdays from November to February. This year we plan on creating an “in-house” league as part of Hoop Camp, so kids learn some fundamentals, and also play in competitive games. This will not be possible unless we have volunteers to help out. We are looking for parents, grandparents, etc.but we would also like to extend the invitation to any High School age kids that are looking for some volunteer hours and enjoy playing basketball.
If you are interested in helping out with Hoop Camp or know of a High Schooler who would like to help, please send an e-mail to apyouthbasketball@gmail.com. Please include the Grade Level that you would be interested in helping with.
Concession Committee – On Sundays during the Season APYB runs a concession at both AMS and APHS during the games to help offset the cost of Gym time and referees. We are in need of a few volunteers to join the Concession Committee to help with setting up concession, ensuring coverage, and purchasing items. If you are interested in helping out, please send an email to apyouthbasketball@gmail.com
Thanks in advance for considering to help. The program cannot run unless we have volunteers. If you have any questions or would like to discuss any of the volunteer opportunities, please feel free to call (518) 852-6560.
